Cermark materials consist of two varieties: a liquid (paste) form and a tape (label) material. Either material can be used in what we call the additive process to make a positive mark.

Make the mark with the laser. The laser energy fuses the material to the substrate. |
Interaction with the laser. |

Remove the excess material. Reveals a high contrast, permanent mark. |
Finally index the tape or remove the label. Then remove the minimal excess material. |
