EDISON, NJ—A new series of "Granite-Effect Type 91" liquid colors for injection molding has been introduced by the Liquid Coatings and Dispersions Division of Ferro Corporation.
The colorant is comprised of visible color particles dispersed in a range of finely processed, low viscosity liquid colorants that produce transparent, translucent, pastel, or fluorescent colored substrates.
The particles are offered in shades of brown, green, blue purple, red, black and white, and can be incorporated singly or in combinations into any standard or custom liquid color, with lighter and more transparent substrate colors yielding the most notable granite effects.
Granite-Effect colorants can be produced using pigments which are heat stable, light stable, organic, inorganic, heavy metal free, and FDA compliant. Compatible with most thermoplastic resins, they are injected into the feed throat of molding machines at typical letdowns of 50 to 100 phr.
