General Properties

Advantages vs. PET-based Concentrates

• No drying required.  If the PET-based concentrate is currently not dried, depending on the usage level, SIV loss will occur.  This SIV loss decreases the mechanical strength of the container.
• UV additives typically require usage levels which cannot be delivered by PET-based concentrates.  If UV additives are delivered via pre-compound, Ferro Corporation’s CycleSaver^TM UV concentrate can offer cost savings.

Advantages vs. Wax-based Concentrates

• Unlike wax-based concentrates, Ferro Corporation’s CycleSaver^TM concentrate does not cause screw slippage during the preform molding stage.  This results in higher productivity.
• Unlike wax-based concentrates, high levels of UV absorbers, pigments and dyes are possible in Ferro Corporation’s CycleSaver^TM concentrate, thus resulting in not only better economics, but also increased design flexibility.
• Advantages vs. PE-based Concentrates
• Unlike PE-based concentrates for PET or PEN, Ferro Corporation’s CycleSaver^TM concentrate does not cause mold plate-out, which directly affects productivity.
• Unlike PE-based concentrates, which can only be used in opaque applications, Ferro Corporation’s CycleSaver^TM concentrate uses a similar base formula, so transparent, opaque and additive concentrates are compatible.
