Ferro has an extensive range of standard colors developed for the film industry, where a lot of standard grades are being used.
However, most of our standard film masterbatches are also suitable for injection and blow molding purposes as well. These masterbatches are available from stock and can be supplied to you within a few days.
Our current range has been extended with all heavy-metal-free versions, suitable for use in food applications. These masterbatches meet the heavy-metal-residue requirements of EU Directive 94/62/EC on packaging waste and CONEG, Proposition 65 legislation in the U.S.
All of our Oxus BlackTM masterbatches are characterized by excellent dispersion of carbon blacks in the base polymer. We offer a full range of loadings. The addition rates vary, depending on the degree of opacity required according to the thickness of the product, the jetness, gloss and protection against degradation from UV light. We use different grades of carbon black in varying particle sizes and polymer types, allowing you to select the most appropriate masterbatch for each application. Tailor-made black masterbatches are also part of our service.
We are also proud of our white standard product group. A wide range of white masterbatches can be supplied and are suitable for various purposes. Most of our white masterbatches are based on a rutile type of titanium dioxide [TI02] and are designed to provide high-temperature stability, excellent dispersion, especially for thin film and sheet extrusion and low screen-blocking performance at high addition levels. Pigment loadings up to 80 percent are possible, giving our customers the advantage of having to add less and thus save costs as well as reduce inventory. Our white masterbatches are suitable for use in food-contact applications, as all raw materials meet European and U.S. regulations. They are available in all different polymer types.
