On December 1, 2004, the Polymer Additives Division (PAD) of Ferro added a line of Benzoate Plasticizers to its portfolio of Specialty Additives for the Plastics Industries.

Ferro PAD commercialized several grades based on DiPropyleneGlycolDiBenzoate and DiEthyleneGlycolDiBenzoate under its Santicizer tradename. The Santicizer 9000 products are available from its Antwerp (Belgium) facilities and marketed globally. Products are tailored to meet specific customer or market segment requirements.

Main grades:

• Santicizer 9100: dipropylene glycol dibenzoate
• Santicizer 9120: dipropylene glycol dibenzoate / diethylene glycol dibenzoate
• Santicizer 9280: dipropylene glycol dibenzoate / diethylene glycol dibenzoate
• Santicizer 9101: modified dibenzoate
• Santicizer 9201: modified dibenzoate
• Santicizer 9500: 2-ethyl hexyl monobenzoate

Santicizer benzoates are used in a wide range of applications:

• in adhesives: polyvinyl acetate, hot melts,...
• in caulks and sealants: latex systems, polyurethane, polysulfide, ...
• in paints and coatings: PVC, acrylic, nitrocellulose, polyurethane, ...
