Our Phosphate Esters (primarily Santicizer® 148) function both as compatibilizers for PVC/nitrile polymers and as highly effective fire retardants for the final sponge product. Santicizer® 148 is the preferred plasticizer for producing nitrile/vinyl foams for refrigeration and cooling systems. Santicizer® 148 works both as fire retardant and a plasticizer to produce a uniform cell structure in vinyl/nitrile blended foams. Santicizer® 148 reduces the amount of smoke generated if the nitrile sponge is combusted, producing a safer product for the general public. In non-fire retardant systems, Santicizer® 160 is an effective plasticizer for blending the nitrile and vinyl resins together.
