High Performance Coating (HPC)

HPC gelcoat for polymer laminate applications is a step forward in the pursuit of lower HAP (Hazardous Air Pollutants) products that still maintain the high performance customers have come to expect from Ferro gelcoat.

The High Performance Coating family is formulated around a new low-viscosity, isophthalic / Neopentyl Glycol (ISO/NPG) polymer backbone. In adition to the new polymer, selective ingredients have been formulated in a way to significantly reduce the HAP level, yet yield a durable coating with increased gloss retention and yellowing resistance when compared to current gelcoat technology.

The HPC line of gelcoats includes whites and off-whites which can be formulated to 15-20% HAP content. Colors including blush-resistant dark colors are also available in MACT-compliant Marine and FRP formulations.

ADVANTAGES

  • 30-50% Reduction in HAP Content
