After the show set up at Tecnargilla 2004, young designer Simona Ceccarelli from Rome will be present at the next Cevisama in Valencia (next 8th-12th February) with her ceramic microsculptures to wear.

Her jewellery display will be hosted in the Ferro booth, company with which Simona started a co-operation

Many microsculptures were in fact actually made with Ferro colors and precious metals

This is the case with  ‘Kanzashi’ Japanese brooch made with white clay, craquelé transparent glaze, pink stain, shiny  Ferro gold and palladium, and of ‘Vesuvio’, two locking pieces, realized in white clay and craquelé red glaze, always by Ferro.‘We are talking about pieces, as Simona Ceccarelli herself explains, whose color effect is intentionally never perfect but badly stained and rugged, almost burnt out. Color becomes this way much more than simple decoration, but main part and essence of the realised object: its own skin. And as is with skin, color takes its own softness, wrinkles and sensuality.

A vision of ceramic result according to what Ferro is doing  from some years now, communicating to its own customers indications on tendencies on materials and colors.

Color, as highlighted also with Moods 2006,  a Ferro publication available to customers both at Cevisama and on request  (marketing_it@ferro.com), is not only sight but involves all human senses, touch included.

Simona Ceccarelli is one among the 40 young designers participating in the Salone Satellite 2005 alongside next Furniture Salon in Milan.

Her microsculptures arise both from bigger sculptures’ drafts to be realised later and also as true experimentation in forms, colors and surfaces. The fact they can be worn renders them easy and pleasant to transfer in a context where everything tends to miniaturisation, lightness and mobility.
