CLEVELAND, May 1, 2000 - Ferro introduces a new system of floor and wall tile decoration that could alter the way ceramics are decorated forever. The Ink Jet - Kerajet® system consists of a color application machine and four specially designed Ink Jet Colors® that when used together, allow for ceramic color decoration using the "four color" coloring process commonly found in ink jet printing. The Ink Jet - Kerajet® system represents a significant advance in the possibilities of ceramic color decoration.

When using the Ink Jet - Kerajet® machine for tile decoration, major advantages can be obtained. Ink Jet - Kerajet® allows for complete decoration of relief areas on tiles, extremely high resolution and non-repetitive designs, "no touch" and "non stop" operation, and 100% edge to edge tile decoration.

When using Ferro's Ink Jet - Kerajet®, a complete color range can be obtained with only four basic inks: cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK). Ink Jet Colors® are less abrasive than traditional ceramic glazes, have an extremely fine particle size, do not bleed or run on the pre-fired tile, and work in a ecological closed circuit system. Without any changes whatsoever, Ink Jet Colors® can be used on floor or wall tile, brilliant or matte finishes.
