Mario D’Andrea’s Biography

  • Born in Milan on 19.9.1948.
     
  •  1971: graduated in business economics (Università Cattolica S.C. Milano) in Marketing - Marketing post-degree courses and specialization.
     
  • 1971-1974:  Marketing Research significant experiences (Nielsen/Makrotest).
     
  • Professional  focusing in textile and fashion wear field including teaching activity at post-university schools (to be quoted Domus Academy for fashion marketing).
     
  • 1974-1987:  13 years in Coats/Viyella group. Diversified experiences, starting with the strategic planning up to the different SBU and controlled companies’ operative management (Marketing Direction) to the responsibility of the head office marketing division
     
  • 1977-1980 Lamprom - zip fasteners
     
  • 1981-1984 Coats Italia Filati Industriali - industrial sewing threads.
     
  • 1984-1987 Cucirini Cantoni Coats - household textile hobb yarns (sewing, knitting, embroidering, crocheting).
     
  • 1987-1997: 10 years in Levi Strauss Italy as Commercial Director responsible for Marketing Intelligence - Advertising & Promotion - Merchandising (product development) - Selling - Captive Distribution (Franchising and Corners).
     
  • 1997-today : managment advisor and strategic consultants focused on marketing and brand positioning, mainly in the fashion business, including start up of  Fin.part Group (Moncler, Henry Cotton’s, Frette, Cerruti, etc).
     
  • Intense activity in marketing publications (specialized magazines and books among which Marketing Management Cases by P. Kotler and W.G. Scott). In 2002/04 publication of the books titled MARKETrethikING and Il nuovo Marketing which intend to propose a new perspective based on the key role of “person and people”.
