Thixotropic Covercoats for Indirect Screen Printing
Ferro supplies thixotropic covercoats with excellent combustibility and depolymerization properties used for ceramic decal decoration of glass, porcelain, ceramics and enamel.
Covercoats with thixotropic viscosity are designed to prevent from the covercoat from flowing down during the vertical drying process. This property is essential when drying in an automatic wicket dryer.
Our thixotropic covercoats are available in colorless and dyed options. Using a colored covercoat can help to distinguish between different covercoats while providing better visibility and distinction of water slide decals. The color also allows for a better visual impression of the printed film thickness of the covercoat.
Thixotropic covercoats (lacquers) may be processed by manual silk-screen printing as well as by automatic silk-screen printing.
Covercoats are printed on top of the ceramic decal and are used to transfer the decal on the objects of decoration.
Good printing properties, combustibility and depolymerization characteristics of our thixotropic covercoats are essential to the successful production of high-quality ceramic decals.
