1919 – Ferro founded, initially focusing on porcelain enamel; begins innovations that transform porcelain enamel from an art into a modern industry.
1939 - Product range expands, as Ferro begins manufacturing inorganic pigments and colorful porcelain enamels.
1990s - Development of Unleaded Decorating Colors for ceramicware.
Shifting gears: Ferro sells its Plastics and North American Polymer Additives businesses and begins to reshape a product portfolio solely on functional coatings and color solutions.
2004 - Ferro’s patented A6M-E LTCC system is used widely in high-frequency and high-reliability applications, including aerospace, telecommunications, consumer electronics, and telecommunications.
2009 - Ferro introduces environmentally-friendly Pb- and Cd-free glass powders and pastes for overglazes, sealing glass and other applications.
Our acquired businesses bring complementary technologies, capabilities and market reach to Ferro. And most important, they add new colleagues who have diverse ideas and experience and who share our commitment to innovation, quality and teamwork.
